This is the story of an amazing and happy girl, who changed our world in so many ways. The icy dark of years of loss and infertility melted the moment she entered our lives, like the sun. At 15 months old she happened to be diagnosed with a rare chromosome disorder. This blog documents her story and all the ways we are lucky to have her. She is so deeply loved and so very much wanted.
the slow road to an answer
• 07/02/2015 - T is diagnosed with a rare chromosome deletion 8q12.3q13.2
• 05/00/2015 - T is assessed for OT (occupational therapy) at Children's
• 03/31/2015 - T gets her AFOs for standing and bearing weight
• 03/27/2015 - T gets bifocals to help her with up-close views
• 03/26/2015 - T is cast for AFOs (Ankle foot orthoses or leg braces)
• 04/00/2015 - T has an MRI to look for optic nerve damage and developmental delay cause
• 02/19/2015 - T is 1 year old! Happy Birthday dear girl.
• 02/13/2015 - T gets her glasses!
• 02/02/2015 - T sees a pediatric optometrist and needs glasses for accomodative esotropia
• 11/00/2014 - T is assessed for PT (physical therapy) at Children's
• 09/2014 - T isn't sitting up on her own yet, we meet with her pediatrician
• 02/19/2014 - T is born @ 10:43pm via emergency c-section after short labor
